Half-Hour Exam Times

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough binocular vision dysfunction (BVD) exams, including evaluating binocularity, tracking, and other functional vision skills.
  • Providing clear education to patients and their families, emphasizing the profound impact of functional vision on daily life.
  • Monitoring and assessing the progress of current patients, ensuring they are on track to meet their vision therapy goals.
  • Effectively communicating results in SOAP notes.
  • Reviewing records for incoming evaluations.

A Typical Day:

Before your scheduled evaluation day, our team vets all patients, gathers necessary forms and history, and prepares records for your review. On the day of assessments, you’ll typically see 4-5 patients, with an hour between appointments to complete notes and review assessment results with our team.

Requirements

 

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) Degree: Must hold a degree from an accredited optometry program.
  • Active Minnesota State License: Current and in good standing to practice optometry.
  • Patient-Centered Approach: Demonstrated commitment to exceptional patient care and building lasting relationships.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Strong ability to connect with patients and team members, and collaborate effectively.
  • Curious and Growth-Minded: Eagerness to contribute to practice growth and engage in innovative projects.

Compensation

 

  • Base Salary: $500/day, $130,000 annually
    • 10-12 days per month
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday business hours, flexible schedule.
    • Part-time to start, with potential to increase.
  • Patient Evaluations:
    • Initial Evaluation: 30-minute exam + 30 minutes for SOAP notes/charting
    • Progress Evaluations: 30-minute exam for current patient progress checks + dedicated time for documentation.
  • Benefits:
    • Available if needed, negotiable within the compensation package.
  • Bonuses:
    • $5,000 paid after 90 days.
    • Additional bonuses are available.
  • Continuing Education:
    • Full coverage of educational training and vision therapy continuing education
    • Full support for FOVDR certification (prior certification not required)
