Success Story

Depth perception and headaches while reading; together with memory retention were my main issues. Headaches were the area of improvement I found most helpful. I rarely get headaches while reading now, whereas before vision therapy I rarely did NOT get headaches after reading.  I came into vision therapy with hardly any depth perception and am amazed at the results. When the entire racetrack popped out at me, I couldn't believe it! Also, my peripheral vision improved significantly and was amazed at the effectiveness of the colored light therapy. Overall, I found the entire program well worth the effort and expense. I wish I had my children do this program in their youth. I also believe a screening of our children in school in early grades and the placement of children into therapy programs like this one would be excellent for our youth. Unfortunately, our politicians have money for earmarks they favor but no funds for successful programs like vision therapy. Denise

Success Story

I was introduced to Vision Therapy while dealing with my daughter’s reading problems. It is amazing what you learn about yourself through your children. Like my daughter I also had help learning to read in grade school. I managed to get through school by doing very little reading (it took too much time and I would fall asleep after reading 2 or 3 pages). My grades reflected this (math and science were good, and English and history were average to poor). I even made it through engineering school mainly by listening. At work I would find working on the computer was very tiring, and I needed to take lots of breaks. I began to dread and avoid the computer. After the first few weeks going to vision therapy I noticed that computer related tasks were getting easier. Now I can spend a day at the computer with less stress than one hour would cause before VT. Although I have not developed a habit of pleasure reading, I find that the reading I do on the job is much easier and less tiring.I would recommend Vision Therapy to anyone having unexplained difficulty reading. I feel that my vision problem has cost me several times more money in lost income than the cost of the Vision Therapy expense. Don’t put it off!

Success Story

I began vision therapy at the age of 26. At the time of my initial consultation, I was experiencing feeling of extreme frustration, headaches, anxiety and issue with my self-confidence. I remember sitting in the doctor's office bawling and crying my eyes out because I didn't know what was wrong with me. By the time I was 6 I had already has 2 surgeries to correct the alignment of my eyes. My doctor did a phenomenal job with the appearance of my eyes, but never gave me any tools to teach my brain and eyes to work together. For the better part of 15 years I just chose to ignore my problems so that I could be like everyone else. I thought my 20/10 vision was enough. In 2005 I decided that vision therapy was a must if I wanted to improve my sense of self and happiness. I was fed up with not being able to read and understand what I was reading. The level of fatigue I had early in the day was unbearable. My visual perception skills were at very low levels. Not to mention the constant anxiety I felt thinking I was going insane. Throughout the year, I have noticed a significant decrease in my fatigue levels (I am no longer spent by 11:00am). My reading and comprehension skills have improved tremendously because I am no longer over compensating for my eyes that just weren't working together. School and homework have been much more enjoyable. I am no longer left with the feelings of "I wish I was normal." Vision therapy has been a tremendously rewarding experience! I am so thankful because I feel as though I have gotten my life back. Simple tasks are no longer a struggle for me. I look forward to continuing and achieving my vision goals.

Success Story

Vision therapy has changed my life! Before vision therapy I had trouble concentrating in school and often experienced headaches after reading for even short periods of time.  Now that I have completed my therapy I have seen amazing changes. My comprehension has greatly improved and I no longer experience headaches no matter the length of reading time. My depth perception has benefited also. I no longer park three feet from the curb. Also, my athletics have improved. I raised my batting average nearly 50 points from my junior to senior year and I made far fewer errors.  I recommend vision therapy because the people are great, helpful, and care about helping you. And the exercises are fun as well as helpful. Vision therapy takes an hour a week but the results last a lifetime.
